The world is drowning in single-use plastic, and estimates predict the problem will grow sig- nificantly by 2050. Several approaches are needed to tackle this problem, including a chance in behaviour through education. The techniques introduced to me over the course of my education in Architecture have given me the tools necessary to help individuals visualize the scope of the problem and understand what must be done to address it.

Over the course of my GP, I aim to start the process of creating a large-scale monument comprised of 148 pillars that visualize the mass of plastic from its invention in 1908 through to 2050. My ultimate goal is to produce a living monument that will travel the world, educating viewers and empowering them to take action.
